I didn't test, but from a quick look at src/usr.bin/cut/cut.c and cut.1 
for the four main *BSDs, they all support the "sflag" for "Suppress.* 
lines".

(A build system I have access to has 13 BSD source trees and three 
OpenSolaris and Linux kernel source on it and makes it easy for me to look 
at different code quickly.)
