default driver "vesa"

hi all,

I am facing a problem while using 'dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg'. In older versions of xorg(debian sarge),it was taking exact driver by default at cursor position,so there was not needed to bother which driver my PC needs.But with newer versions of xorg like 7.1 has default driver as "vesa" for all ,so some PC s are not able to start xserver. For that i need to edit xorg.conf or reconfigure it using exact driver....

so pls.....help me out in editing xorg source to do this task automatically... I need this to use in my own livecd....
