Build env for client libraries

Hi Xorg gurus,
 
I am new to Xorg and working on porting older Xorg (6.8.2) client libraries (for driver) to modular Xorg 7.0.0. 
 
1) Is there any information available how to create the configuration and make file (configure.ac Makefile.am)? Like sample files. By the way, current client library uses Imake environment. 
 
2) Also provide any pointers how to port the Xorg 6.8.2 man page to Xorg 7.0.0 man page in the build env.
