X server vendor release number

For cairo, it would be nice to be able to detect if we've got a reliable
X Server for some features like gradients. That's hard right now
because the server release didn't get bumped for 7.1. Should we bump it
now to 7.1.0.1 (last version there being the "SNAP" number), so that
cairo can tell if we've got the latest Render fixes from head, but the
7.1.0 number is still around for distros to fix up for the 1.1.0 server
release?
