3d pci-e 'modern' card (Was: Re: Suggested video cards for Xorg)

  I'd like to buy a pci-express x 16 3d graphic card. I looked
about gpl drivers, and founded only radeon r300, wich seems to
stay in cvs. So, I finally think to a nvidia 6600gt.
I do not need so much 3d (no games). Just I want a «up-to-date»
graphic card.
Any advice? Thx
