Dealing with git

Well, after I type 'git-clone etc.' it says:
Password:
How come it is asking me for a password and not you?
Note that when I type 'cvs status ChangeLog' I get:
Enter passphrase for key '/home/dj4236/.ssh/id_dsa':
I type my Xorg password and it works fine. So cvs.freedesktop.org isn't
asking me for a password, but git.freedesktop.org is.
