Dealing with git - MAKING PROGRESS; STILL NEED MORE HELP

Thanks for your suggestion of using deronj, Daniel. It worked.
Now I am making contact with the server and it is asking me
for the same passphrase I use for cvs.

But now I am encountering a problem with executing git-index-pack.
I have verified that git-index-pack is in my path. But the
the directory /home/dj4236/tmp/compositeproto doesn't exist.

% git-clone
git+ssh://deronj@git.freedesktop.org/git/xorg/proto/compositeproto
