Xorg 7.0 and radeonfb - a no-go?

Are you using a frame-buffer driver in X? Why?
You should be using the ATI driver. ie in your /etc/X11/xorg.conf, you
should have a section:
Section "Device"
In that section somewhere, you should have the line:
Driver "ati"
