detacheable X-proxy

Hi folks,

I'm looking for an detacheable X-proxy, which can run on some host
without graphics device and displays its client on some other 
Xserver on-demand, just like Xvnc, but using the X protocol
instead of vnc to the display.

AFAIK there is an X proxy (at least some low-bandwidth proxy).
Is it able to detach from the destination display and rettach
later to some other one ?
