glx weirdness since xorg 7 modular

Let me try to explain it again.

The first second is fine, xterm says 100 fps and the glxgears rotate
with 100 fps.
After the first second xterm still says 100 fps, but what i actually
get in the glxgears window is only 0.5-1 fps (static image and the
gears jump forward every 1-2 seconds).

In most other glx-applications i only see a static image, the only one
that kind of works is neverball (a game) where i get about 0.5-1 fps
with the lowest possible settings in the lowest resolution.

I have to admit that i dont understand the whole dri and drm thing.
I dont know if these are required, but i got both to work.
For dri to work i need to lower the resolution because of not enough video-ram.
For drm to work i get the mach64 drm modules from cvs like i have been
advised in this mailinglist a while ago, but it doesn't make any
difference to the glx-issue.

Sascha Heid
