What are these option for?

I'm using XFree 4.3.0.

In my config file I'm using the following option:

In my layout section:
InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Mouse1" "SendCoreEvents"

In my input section:
Option "SendCoreEvents"  "true"

Are these option mandatory? What are they for?

I have build a 6 multiheaded X screen system that run with 6 USB  
mices, just wondering what is the purpose of these options.
