Greetings,

I have just decided to road test Xorg 7.1 RC2 on Asus W3V running Gentoo
(gentoo-sources-2.6.16-r7 corresponds to vanilla kernel 2.6.16.14; KDE
3.5.2). It is equipped with the Radeon X600 card.
I just wanted to confirm that fglrx drivers (8.24.8) currently don't work with
7.1 since I got the following:

(II) LoadModule: "fglrx"
(II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so
(II) Module fglrx: vendor="FireGL - ATI Technologies Inc."
        compiled for 6.8.99.8, module version = 8.24.8
        Module class: X.Org Video Driver
ABI class: X.Org Video Driver, version 0.7
(EE) module ABI major version (0) doesn't match the server's version (1)
(II) UnloadModule: "fglrx"
(II) Unloading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "fglrx" (module requirement mismatch, 0)

Here's some more info on the system in question (lspci --vv):
