Bug 7112 is solved

This bug

is solved and some people seem to confirm the fix works. I wanted to ask 
if there is any plan to integrate the patch in the following release so 
everyone gets it from their favourite distro.

For many people this is the only reason they are not upgrading their 
systems, so they are losing many new features and maybe losing the 
distributor's support.
