help needed: Xserver on alpha (broken in X11R7)

Thanks Alan.  If you need to coordinate with the Debian folk, Steve
Langasek <vorlon at debian.org> is one of our chief guys working on the
problem.  

We also have the alpha mailing list [1], debian-alpha at lists.debian.org
(subscription not required).  There's an existing thread discussing the
problem [2].
