Hi Keith,

Your spec is very nice.
The main missing bit is it assumes all the monitors have the same pixel
density (aka hardware DPI)

I'd be great if it allowed cloning of a high DPI laptop LCD to a low-DPI
projector, or assembling of several different outputs[1] without
user-visible distortion[2]

[1] as in different make/generation/tech and different pixel densiy
[2] many of the new monitors on the market keep the 4:3 ratio when
"standard" resolutions like 1280x1024 are 5:4. Likewise widescreens are
16:10 but display 16:9 content
