Samsung R40, Pixelsalat und SuSE 10.1, Rettung mit SAX?

Hallo,

A colleague of mine bought a Samsnung R40. I tried to install SuSE 10.1
on it and everything went fine, till the hardware configuration dialog.
I tried to change the resolution 800x600 (?).


After this I onlyhad pixel salad on the screen. Sax also displays pixel
salad, when I start it from run level 3.

The web says that the nootebook has an ATI Radeon Express 200M.

Does somebody know how to run X on such machines? Some vesa mode should
be possible.
