I am  in favor/favour of trying to maintain Truth and then Beauty [1] in the
X tree.

[1]  I would have put Beauty first but I am a realist, I know that
     beauty is the first to go...  but that does not stop me from
     introducing level 1 bugs by fixing typos in debug messages :-)
