Which kernel support the Intel 965 chipset?

I've been given a HP 7700 PC to test Intel 965 chipset out on but cannot 
get FC6 to install.
It hangs a short way into the kernel startup after a few messages are ACPI.

I suspect that FC6 does not have a new enough kernel or that there are 
special kernel
parameters needed to boot on this box.

Can anyone give me a point in the right direction please?
