3D with the i810 driver?

Attempting to run glxgears under an xorg with the i810 driver on an 
Intel 965G chipset I get the following error message

libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5a
DRM_I830_CMDBUFFER: -22

Does this mean I am out of luck with 3D support at the moment, or have I 
got some setting in my xorg.conf wrong?
