XChangeKeyboardControl not working

Greetings!

I would like to toggle keyboard LEDs with an app.

But it turns out you can only do that with the ScrollLock LED: the
others don't do anything.

I found old bug reports:

At the moment I run:
xbase-clients                      7.1.ds-3
xserver-xorg                       7.1.0-6
with Debian Sid.

This turns out to be a years old problem, apparently.

Anybody know if this will be fixed?

I found no similar function in xcb!
