How to generate packages/tarballs of the binaries/libs?

Hello all,
is it possible to automatically create rpms or tarballs from each package after compile/install process?(binaries and not the sources!!) And if i run the xserver it searches for my built path (/tmp/modular...). Is it possible to replace this path with just "/"?
