Radeon 7000 and DRI = freeze. Bug?

That means it's resolved upstream in Xorg. You say you have the last
version of all packages, but what you mean is that you have the last
version of all packages released on Ubuntu. You need to chat with the
Ubuntu people to find a way to get this fix on Ubuntu. I'd put your
comments into that Launchpad bug.
