Hello,

This is my first post to the x.org mailing list only because I believe it is
my last resort. I've been trying for two days now to get direct rendering to
work on my trident cyber9525dvd card which is built into my toshiba laptop (a
rather old one I might add).

It has worked in the past on an old x.org 6.x release and more recently on
x.org 7.0, the one that comes with ubuntu dapper. I'm now in the process of
my yearly upgrade and have tried both Fedora 7 and Debian Etch (4.0) with no
avail. I think it has something to do with aiglx. When I start up X, I get
this error message: "(EE) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI capable"

I've googled around and found out there is a way to disable aiglx, which I
tried as well but that didn't work either. I used the following in my
xorg.conf:

Section "ServerFlags"
        Option "AIGLX" "off"
EndSection

Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "Disable"
EndSection

If you look at the error log nothing seems out of order, it even says that it
loads the DRI module with any errors. When I check it with glxinfo it is
clear that direct rendering isn't enabled. The following links contain my
x.org log and my xorg.conf file to show what happens when I disable aiglx in
hopes of getting direct rendering working. These files were made using x.org
7.1.1 on Debian.
