Detecting Mouse and Keyboards events

Hi:

I was using liblXtst to capture mouse and keyboard events on my code.

Using from console was too simple but when launching the whole code 
including wxWidgets code, the program doesn't work, and sometimes freezes 
the screen.

Is there other way to capture the mouse and keyboard directly from Kernel or 
xorg-input core system?
