X.Org 7.2, intel modesetting, slower glxgears score?

Hi all,
Since all the required bits are now in Debian experimental, I went
ahead, took the plunge, and upgraded my laptop (Intel 855GM) to X.Org
7.2 with RandR 1.2, Mesa 6.5.2, and xf86-video-intel 2.0 RC1. I am using
the new i915tex DRI driver with 2.6.21-rc3 and a DRM tree from Mesa git.
To my great surprise, it all works, even with Compiz! And the RandR 1.2
stuff will be nice for hooking up to projectors at a higher frame rate
than was possible with the BIOS. Nice work guys. :)
Just one minor question: It seems my glxgears score is significantly
lower, and it seems some effects like the cube plugin for Compiz are a
bit less smooth. Is this a known problem of some kind or is there some
way I could gather some information to file a bug on this? I know
glxgears is a bad metric, is it possible I'm just imagining things here
on the Compiz effects? Thanks in advance for any tips.
