X-Server 1.3, randr 1.2 and dualscreen?

I just realized that this is still a bit unstable: I can get dualscreen 
working by doing this the first time, but if I then switch LVDS off by

$ xrandr --output LVDS --off

I can never switch it on again with

$ xrandr --output LVDS --below VGA

Is this a known problem?
