Yes this is a real pain for me too for the same reasons. I'd like to use
my laptop with e.g. projectors, LCD external displays etc., but seeing
as my native res is 1680x1050 it means I only have 400 odd pixels
left/right or 998 pixels up/down which is a bit of a pain - stil
1024x768 is OK for now. Just hope some of the clever folks find some
time to work around this limitation sometime soon. After all it works OK
on the Macbooks with i945GMs so they must have had similar problems no?
And I really can't turn off my 3D eye candy... it's like an addiction
now... no going back :p
