Using 1080i over DVI/HDMI with 965G

I've been trying to get a Toshiba 42WLT66 television to display a full
screen picture at a resolution of 1920x1080 interlaced (1080i). The
display is driven driven by an Intel 965G through a DVI ADD2 card.
Despite using what I believe is the correct ModeLine (from EDID in log)
I cannot get a signal to display.
Following recent messages reporting success with 1080p, I reattempted
with X.Org XServer 1.2.0 and the intel driver 1.9.94/2.0.0 on Ubuntu
7.04. However the 965G seems unable or unwilling to sync. Can anyone
help me find the cause this? Is t anything to do with the television
requiring an interlaced signal or is there perhaps some problem
involving the ADD2 card?
