State of XP5 support in xserver-xorg-video-trident?

Hello,

The Volari XP5 (at least in the Elitegroup ECS 532 notebook) reports
a wrong panel size and the driver programs the registers in a bad
way due to that mis-information.

This was reported in
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5775
With the input of David Palacio I found a workaround for that problem,
the bug has been closed back in December but: As far as I can see the
trident driver has not been changed since then, therefore the problem
is not really solved yet.

What's the current state of the trident driver?
