.Xauth###### files overflowing my partition, how to stop?

Greetings;

How can one stop, or auto-delete at the end of the session, all 
these .Xauth##### files that are about to fill up my /root partition?
I must have over 500 of them now, and I have been cleaning out those with 
older dates from time to time, but that in itself is time consuming.
