And while the binary only X servers flourished in the Unix
wars of the late 80's and 90's, they're pretty much legacy
today, with the open source X server winning out not because
licensing forced it, but because the market learned that was
the most efficient way to keep it evolving in step with the
advances in hardware, OS'es and desktops.
