G965 framebuffer driver?

This isn't strictly X related but a lot of Intel people are on this
list, sooo...

Are there any plans to update the kernel intelfb driver to support the
G965? The boot up sequence on my widescreen LCD is very ugly because
it's forced to use vesafb, whereas on my PowerBook radeonfb provides
native modesetting and hence bootup happens at the native LCD
resolution...
