Xserver starts in some 16:9 resolution

Hello,

After certain upgrade of xorg (can't say which), It started failing to
detect the settings of my monitor, and only a 16:9 mode will work
(even when I tried to change it using the gnome app for it) So I
manually set the h sync and v refresh values. Now I am able to select
1024X768 from that app. But the x server will allways start in
1280x768.

Here is a portion of the log file:

So it seems xorg picks the first resolution of the 'probed modes' even
if it is not in xorg.conf. Is there a way I can prevent that, and make
it start directly in 1024x768?

Thanks in advance!

Germán Becker

P.S.: Attaching xorg.conf just in case.
