I think the issue you're running into is that Gutsy includes xserver
1.3, but the git tree you're trying to run may require xserver 1.4.
So, you could backport xserver 1.4 and its dependencies to Gutsy,
or you could run against Hardy, for which we've recently upgraded to
xserver 1.4, or use an older release of kdrive/Xephyr that works with
xserver 1.3.
