Is IgnoreEdid broken?

What about the option "NoEDID", this is handled in the DDC module, and 
has been handled there for a long, long while. I'm not sure what 
special functionality IgnoreEDID has, but if it is just dropping EDID 
blocks on the floor, then it is superfluous.
