Then you can try the two following commands:

printf '\033[8;20;120t'

(see ctlseqs.txt from xterm doc for details on this one)

echo $WINDOWID

These are shell, but of course any application can do the same.

On the other hand, I personally would very much dislike an application that
tries to move around the xterm from which I started it.
