radeonhd: BIOS does not recognize RV670?

I've a Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 512 MB PCIe card (RV670), and also a Radeon
9250 PCI (RV280) card installed.
The RV9250 card works with no problems of course. Tried the radeonhd and
also vesa driver for the RV670 card, with no luck.
Here's a snippet from lspci:

does that mean that the BIOS itself is not recognizing the card, and
therefore radeonhd/vesa drivers don't detect the
card that is very much there?
