X buggy in Slackware-current

Hi

Downloaded "unofficial Slackware-12.2-rc1" and installed on a spare 
partition.

note: main partition uses Slackware-12.0 and X works fine.

Problems in 12.2:

I. Using config file supplied with Slackware only 1024x768 works.
    The 800x600 and 640x480 modes are out of sync. (diagonal picture)

II. As root, ran X -configure. When I tried the suggested test the
     computer crashed: black screen, dead keybord, dead mouse.

Attached 2 config files, 2 log files.
If you give me some hints as how to fixit, will try them and report
back.
