how to ignore monitor's EDID?

Can you pastebin the full log and the full config.

Did you keep this line?
modeline        "1280x1024 at lcd" 108 1280 1326 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066

AFAIK EDID tells the card about supported modes and timings. Without it you need
a manual modeline.
