nouveau to replace nv?

I'm not really interested in nouveau's 3D acceleration, but OTOH I'd
love to see its mode-setting code in a stable driver (especially since
the current nv code is unable to use more than 1280x1024 on the DVI
output of my card, forcing me to use VGA to my 1600x1200 screen).

Is there any intention to include some of the code from nouveau in
a near future Xorg distribution?
