Hi.
I have an Asus P5B-VM motherboard, with a 965G video controller. It is
currently running with a CRT monitor at 1600×1200 (75 Hz), quite well¹, but
the monitor is showing signs of old age, and I consider replacing it with a
1920×1200 LCD.
I know that it should work perfectly, and maybe I am being somewhat
overparanoid, but I have read horror stories about some Intel chipsets at
non-4/3 resolutions, so I want to be really sure before buying.
The best answer I could hope for would be "I have the same motherboard, it
works for me [with the following tricky settings]", but any piece of
informed advice would be welcome.
Regards,

1 : except that, for some mysterious reason, the preferred resolution is
1280×1024 at 85, and I have to use xrandr to switch just after the startup; but
that is not a big issue.
