Mouse trouble - gets stuck on left hand side of screen.

Hi;
Sorry if this is mis-posted, I think it is an Xserver issue.
Installed CentOS 5.2 c/KDE. Am having issues with xserver, primarily
that cursor gets stuck on the left side of the screen. Once stuck there
seems to be no restoring it. Proximal cause seems to be moving the
mouse too fast, but even if I am careful it invariably happens.
Am currently quitting Xserver (cntl-alt-backspace) to reset. Loaded
gnome desktop thinking it might be KDE-specific issue, same problem.
Used yum to update all x.org packages, and have run Xorg -configure to
re-read devices.
Am running logitech wireless mouse/keyboard via a KVM. Xserver
otherwise runs fine, although there are some artifacts at times.
1) is there a way to refresh the xserver (specifically mouse posn)
without restarting it?
2) Can anyone point me at docs to help me understand this? Any guess as
to whether it is a mouse problem or video card problem.
Thanks very much.
