Yup.  Even were xlib to get support for faking server-side fonts by
way of client-side fonts¹ there will always be some useful apps which
are not dynamically linked, or are running from older, remote client
devices.

I remember when allowing the freetype module to load a sfnt/glyf font
with a XLFD encoding of 10646-1 was guaranteed to crash the server.
