building xorg without GL

I need a hint on this, please.
When I first began building Xorg, I thought there wouldn't be anything wrong
with building the OpenGL stuff, so I downloaded ajnd unpacked Mesa-7.0.3, and
passed that path to the build.sh script.
After fixing a few local screwups, I realized that I didn't need GL. Among
other reasons, I have a Nvidia card, with Nvidia's GL libs (which work for me),
and I don't want to screw that up. Well, now the xorg build is complaining it
can't find the pkgconfig file (which Nvidia doesn't supply, nor does the GL
packages). After I'd removed the -m option to build.sh and the actual path, I
thought it would just go past the GL step, but I guess it's got some history
hanging around, is that right? Or is there some other step I need to hit, to
remove the GL build step from the xorg package?
I got the package from git, not a tarball.
