Upgrading xrandr1.1 to xrandr1.2

Dear Daniel,

I am sorry, if I have hurt your feelings in anyway but we can do a port back from xrandr1.2 to X11R7.1, if that is possible without showstoppers. But we also feel that using X11R7.3 is the best way of getting to dual head.

Thanks for your mail once again.

Best Regards

Deepak Bhatia

I can't stress this enough. We don't really have the resources to
support even current releases, let alone support people trying to make
very invasive modifications (with exceptionally little investigation
from their own side) to old releases. I'm sorry that you have these
requirements -- really, I am -- but there's nothing an open source
development project can do about the contracts NEC HCL signed.

This is the advice from everyone that has responded to you: find a way
to upgrade to X11R7.3. If this means reporting back to your customers
that you need to modify the requirements, so be it. If this means a
pile of backports and hacks, then so be it.

But understand that we can only support the code we write, and only to
some certain extent. We support dual-head with current Intel drivers
and the current X server. In previous releases, the dual-head support
may work, but should in general be considered missing. If you upgrade,
you can get the new functionality.

Best of luck with whichever option you choose, but I'm pretty sure we
aren't able to help you anymore.

Cheers,
Daniel, taking his own spare time to respond to this and help you guys
out, as with the others responding
