  Err, I mean't glibc. But I am talking about something I don't know all
details here, i.e. if glibc will interfere with signal handling processing,
and if a thread safe (g)libc can also properly handle entering a routine
like malloc from a signal handler.

  Anyway, up to some years ago, I would always test programs with FreeBSD
malloc, as it was/is very good at debugging memory handling problems.
