  That was quite a lot of changes :-).

  I believe the name is a bit misleading, it should not be 1.4.x as it 
is not
binary compatible.

  Anyway the later the worse it would be to switch to the code in git 
master.
Hopefully soon it could be used simple tags in git master, like what is done
with drivers, or short lived stable branches.
