Quote from driconf(1):
"The settings are stored in a system wide or per-user XML
configuration file which is parsed by the OpenGL drivers on startup."
driconf automatically detects your adapter and presents all the
applicable options. Finding out the right options for your driver
without driconf might not be that easy (no idea if they are documented
anywhere), so you might still want to install driconf.
