X11 Input Driver

Hello
I would like to write an X11 input driver.
Can some one give a links
1. Tutorials
2. documentation.
3. API Documentation.
I have another question i would like to simulate a double click events
what is the best way to simulate this kind of an event.
(Do i have to wait X Mses to check if i got consecutive button events)
