No video overlay on Intel X4500HD

Hi Guys,

My major problem is that i dont have the "Intel(R) Video Overlay" but
only the "Intel(R) Textured Video" - as reported by xvinfo | grep -i
adaptor. This causes tearing and i really need to watch movies :-)

Another problem which i think is somehow connected is that i don't have
opengl or glx or whatever (I cant tell the difference. No 3D)
However glxgears runs only once in a x session. It runs again (once) if
i restart Xorg. From the second run it only reports:
"Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual"

Ok I will now give you some system information:

I tried the 2.5.1-r1 Version of the driver (form gentoo) as well as the
latest from intel 2.5.99-2

mesa and libdrm are from gentoo
x11-libs/libdrm-2.4.3
media-libs/mesa-7.2

uname -a
Linux mercury 2.6.28-gentoo #7 SMP Sun Jan 11 20:30:16 Local time zone
must be set--see zic  x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU U9400 @ 1.40GHz
GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

It's a ThinkPad X301 with the Intel GMA X4500HD

glxinfo:
direct rendering: Yes
server glx vendor string: SGI
server glx version string: 1.2

and it keeps reporting Yes even if glxgear isn't running anymore

grep -i drm /usr/src/linux/.config
CONFIG_DRM=y
CONFIG_DRM_I915=y

Is this the right module? There is no such thing is drm_intel or
drm_i965 or is it?

dmesg | grep -i drm
[    0.640329] [drm] Initialized drm 1.1.0 20060810

[    0.447212] agpgart-intel 0000:00:00.0: AGP
aperture is 256M @ 0xd0000000

I will also attach my xorg log

I hope someone can help me based on this information

cheers Daniel
